Dear LA-LA Land,
We’re headed your way for the Spirit Awards because we’ve been nominated for Best Cinematography and the John Cassavetes Award. While in LA we are doing a free screening Friday Night (tomorrow!). Our feature film is playing at UCLA followed by an after party. (details below) There have been so many people who’ve messaged us about being a part of our next project so the party should be a good chance for us to meet everyone.

The next day there is a live television Red Carpet Event as all of the spirit award nominees show up in limos, and we’ll be showing up in the car we are rented at the airport.

But we don’t give a crap about celebrities and red carpets, so here is what we want to turn this into. We want to organize a media blitz. You and a bunch of friends show up to the Red Carpet event this Saturday at 1:30 pm for a Net Neutrality Rally. Make home made signs that say “Save the Internet” and, “Indie Films need an Indie Internet” and “Four Eyed Monsters Loves the Internet and will cry if you take it away”, you know, whatever you want.

There will be cameras everywhere, Sara Silverman will be there and a bunch of other famous people and at exactly 1:30 the Red Carpet event will be broadcasting live and being taped to air later in the evening. So just try to make a big deal and get a lot of exposure to the signs and shout things if you’d like as well. At a certain point we’ll be walking up the red carpet and we’ll come over and high five everyone.

We’ve got 100 promotional Four Eyed Monsters pre-release DVDs our pal Brian Chirls (wearing a black and white FEM shirt) will be giving out as a thank you to everyone who can make it to this rally.

And finally, we need a crash pad in LA, I know we are a bit last minute with this whole thing, check the details below for our needs.

– 7:30 pm

– UCLA Campus in the James Bridges Theater/Melnitz Hall
– We’ll be there for a Q&A after the screening.

– The Live broadcasting starts at 1:30 pm
– Giving away 100 promotional DVDs as a thank you for showing up.
– Be prepared to be on national TV (wear your cool clothes)
